They need to do it legally or they don't need to do it at all. I read an intersting article in the paper a few weeks ago about the mining jobs. By 2015, 75% of the ming jobs will be held by Mexicans due to the low wages. You don't see us going down there and taking what little jobs they have, do you? It's no wonder our economy sucks, with the addition of Bush.

Bush has nothing to do with what the congress and senate do. The biggest problem is that the illegals come here and have more rights and priviliges than anyone else. Who here knew that even legal mexicans don't pay taxes.

yeah cause didn't our forefathers do the exact same thing, force language and culture on savage people? That and kill them. It was all ok then though, forcing culture and making almost an entire race vanquish along with their ways of living.

Isn't that progress? the same thing coal and oil companies do now?(Yeah I know somebody will argue, but I saw a gas lease signed less than 5 years ago, saying ,"You don't have too, but your neighbor has and they'll get it all off his property and you won't get a cent" come to find out all they really wanted was the right of way to build a pipeline, not too well marked as you see a person a year or so killed digging them up strip mining) The Nativies had lived here for...well it was hard to say without a written history, one tribe displacing another -killing them as a stronger tribe arose. Still in all that time never a city or factory? In the words of Lynyrd Skynyrd- "Was I Right or Wrong?" Was the White Mans life better?

That is why no one wants to close the border. Too many big players lose their federal funding, and yes we do have folks(companies) that are training "Their Mine Foremen" to speak Spanish so they wil be able to import labor, seems a fair share isn't enough. That and with the new drug testing , Kentucky is having a hard time just finding enough people to be legal to work underground. KY is a few steps ahead of VA on the drug testing, but you can bet once one starts, they all will, and it will involve permenantly revoking a general coal miners card, meaning you can't work ANYWHERE in the mines. [img]/LDPforum/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] Might be another energy crisis, at least another sort, you'd be suprised what shows up in some of the tests.

In response to no one in particular:

1) The US doesn't have an 'official' language. Many speak English, but it's not the official language.
2) Some talk about them being lazy, not learning English, forcing their culture, etc. Did you know that when you go overseas to non-English-speaking countries, the folks working over there know English to accomodate us lazy Americans who won't learn their language?
